3/21 Today’s article discussed how more people are choosing to live in the suburbs rather than in the city. When you become an adult, which lifestyle do you think you would prefer—city life or suburban life? Choose one and explain your reasons clearly.

I think as an adult I will prefer suburban life. I really like places that don't have too much going on and are very peaceful. The suburbs still have schools so I shouldn't have to travel too far to get to work. I would prefer to be able to raise a family in a safer area outside of the city.

3/20 Based on the two informational passages that you've read thus far this week, write about how you will personally strive to avoid student loan debt?

I will try to avoid student debt by choosing a school that offers the lowest price for what I want to pursue. It isn't worth taking on a bunch of student loans to start in a field that makes very little money after college. I also plan to do a five year program that allows me to immediately graduate with a masters in teaching after 5 years of college.

3/28 What are some common stereotypes that you believed about high school students? How true or not true are these stereotypes?

I believed high school students were lazy and thought smart people were weird. This however, is not at all true. Some of the most popular people in school are the smartest people you'll meet. I think this is really interesting because this is not how high school students are portrayed in society.

3/26 Write about a time when you realized that your perception of a person or group was based on stereotypes. How did this realization affect your behavior or beliefs? What steps did you take to change your perceptions?"

When one of my now best friends first came to lakeside, I didn't know how to approach her because she looked like a stereotypical mean girl. She had a confidence about her that scared me so I just thought she was mean. In reality, she is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I regret making that assumption about her.

4/3 If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

I would go to somewhere tropical. I love being at the beach, although I don't like actually getting in the water. I think the atmosphere is just so calming and nice. The smell of the beach is something I look forward to every year when I go with my family.

4/2 Consider a film that portrays your culture. Reflect on how accurately your culture is represented and the potential impacts of this portrayal.

A film that portrays my culture is Fiddler on the Roof. This film accurately represents Jewish culture and provides more insight to our traditions. It also includes really good music so that's a plus!
