Something I've always been curious about

Something I've always been curious about is whether or not our pets understand some of the things we say to them. I always think my pets can understand what i'm saying but that could just be wishful thinking. I hope they can understand me but I really don't know if they do.  Today in class we took our final! I got a 100! I honestly was not expecting that because I am not a very confident test taker but at the same time I was able to stay home this morning and rest which I think helped me focus better.

My most special holiday memory

My most special holiday memory is when every year my entire family would gather at my grandmothers house for a christmas eve celebration. This is very ironic because that entire side of my family is all Jewish, but they all love Christmas too and so we would all celebrate together.  In class we completed a similar assignment to Monday, just today it was on letters 26-27. I am really starting to like this book.

The best gift I have recieved

The best gift I have received was my barbie dream house when I was very little. I was so excited about it and my sister and I got so much use out of it. We played with that until we literally couldn't anymore because it was broken. It was our favorite thing ever.  Today in class we completed prompts for letters 20-25. I learned that Sofia is a very strong and resiliant woman.

Something I believed as a child

Something I believed as a child that most children believe is that Santa Claus was real. I was so sure he was real that I would try to stay up to see him at night but I would always fail because my parents were smart and waited until like 4 o'clock in the morning to put anything out. I only realized Santa Claus wasn't real when my cousins told me when I was about 7 or 8. It was a big disappointment.  In class we took a group quiz on The Color Purple. It was a little frustrating because we did not do as well as I would have hoped but it's ok because I have learned for next time what to look for. I will say the true or false did trip me up.

A time I couldn't stop laughing

A time I couldn't stop laughing was yesterday in this class when Ashley was trying to was trying to record her voice over for the project and kept messing up. Carter kept making fart noises and when he didn't she would mess up the words or say the wrong letter. It was really funny because of how many tries it took her to get it. Today in class we presented the color purple letter projects. I am frustrated because i'm gonna have to go through and do everything I did all over again because mine will not save. Not cool.

A fear I have overcome

A big fear of mine that I have overcome is being in front of an audience. This is because I had so much exposure to it due to theater. I have learned various coping skills to calm myself before a performance and am now able to go out and do my best. It has also helped with my confidence and ability to communicate with people in general.  In class we finished up working on our adobe express videos. I was a little frustrated because the internet was being not cool but I was able to finish It at home so it was all good.

A situation where I had to find strength despite feeling weak

About a month ago, I was really sick and we had our invited dress rehearsal for our fall shows. I had no idea how I was going to make it through the show because I was extremely dizzy, nauseous, and my head hurt really bad. However I knew I just had to figure it out because I honestly had no other choice. I was able to make it through the show thanks to adrenaline but as soon as I stepped off stage I was on the ground. I was very proud of myself for getting through it despite feeling really sick. I was absent for class today 12/3/24

Something I cant stop thinking about

Something I can't stop thinking about, morbid as it may be, is what happens after death. I find myself getting fully distracted just thinking about it. Is it total darkness? Is there an afterlife? Reincarnation? The crazy thing is there is no way to actually know until it happens to you.  Today in class we came up with answers to questions for a multiple choice test. I thought this lesson was very interesting because it really worked exactly how Mr. Rease said it would and I honestly didn't think it would play out that way. After that, we had a pop quiz and then we continued reading.

A conversation that changed me

A conversation that changed me was one that I had with my mom about walking alone. I was still pretty young and didn't realize how dangerous the world can be but this conversation changed my perspective. Now I check and double check my surrounding always, check my car when I get in to make sure nobody got in somehow, and make sure nobody is possibly following me home. Today in class we did a vocabulary worksheet. I learned that there are lots of different words that all look and sound the same but mean totally different things.
